Vacation!

I sent out a draft of that novel I've been editing to one of my stalwart readers, I got 14" cut off my hair (it's slightly longer than chin-length and very nearly spherical), and I'm off to Barcelona for two weeks.

Life is good unless you're my cat. She may never, ever forgive us.

The SO's tiny Korean computer is presently plugged in via the travel adapter because we figured, based on available data, that the plug would be just fine in the EU and forgot about that 5 hour layover in NYC. Whoops.
The Deity spoke unto us, and verily, we were told to buy a new water heater. And we did not listen.

And the Deity spoke again. Again we did not listen.

The Deity lost patience. The water heater leaked copiously.

We got the message.
The author smiling into the camera, wearing glasses and long dark blonde hair.
Today I received my Professional certification to do my paying job, which is pastel and reminds me forcibly that Excelsior means sawdust, among other things.

I also received an invitation to create this. I intend to put my creative efforts here to some degree, or at least my complaining about them. Presently, I have 1 (one) draft of a science fiction novel sitting on my hard drive, waiting for me to have enough distance to appreciate the hard work a friend has done in reading it over and annotating it with the various kinds of things it needs to make it better.

My working notebook also contains:
- some notes edging toward the beginning of a sequel to the extant draft
- a decent stab at an outline of a YA novel set in the same universe as said draft
- character notes and the beginning of a plot outline regarding a wholly different story in the aforementioned universe
- a diagram and plot outline for a YA high fantasy story inspired all too directly by the worse aspects of my employment

I currently have no plans to document my daily existence here; rather, the only things I intend to post will have to do with some form of creative project or other. Subscribe if you are interested in hearing of such things.
